Its lovely settlements, like Capri Town and Anacapri, feature tiny cobblestone streets dotted with boutiques, cafes, and picturesque squares. Capri's rich history, which includes legendary characters such as Emperor Tiberius and writer Axel Munthe, combined with its breathtaking natural surroundings and dynamic cultural scene, make it a genuinely unique destination for travellers looking for the pinnacle of Mediterranean pleasure. These are our favorite hotels in Capri with options for those with a bigger and smaller budget but with comfort and good service as non negotiable requisites.

Punta Tragara
A 15-minute stroll from Capri's main centre along the panoramic Via Tragara leads to the stunning Belvedere, which opens to expose infinite seascapes and the hotel's entrance. Getting here is actually half the pleasure.
Luxury personified: the hotel exudes island glamour and panache. Italian engineer Enrico Vismara picked this location atop a rock to build his private residence and commissioned renowned French-Swiss architect Le Corbusier to design the blueprints. The end result is a modernist masterpiece that embodies a period of aristocratic wealth.
Punta Tragara
A Roman Count converted it into a hotel in 1973, and it has since been remodelled multiple times. Interior architect Giorgia Dennerlein's most recent refurbishment maintained the rooms' bones intact while using 1930s vintage patterns and hues inspired by a rose garden.
During the day, guests recline around the two freshwater pools, one of which is heated and features whirlpool jets. There is a modest but well-equipped gym overlooking the aromatic gardens, as well as Roman Fabrizio Narducci's couture hair salon. Walk through the salon to the Gili wellness section for a variety of beauty treatments and pleasant massages. If you can pull yourself away from the hotel's breathtaking views and luxurious surroundings, the courteous concierge can arrange private yachts, scooter or limo rentals, and gyrocopter excursions.
Punta Tragara
The 38 rooms and six suites are spread out across three floors of a lovely labyrinth. No two rooms are alike, and the decor varies from contemporary to traditional. In-room amenities differ by category: some have wacky floor layouts and imperial marble bathrooms, while others offer the most breathtaking vistas on the world, but all have balconies, terraces, or patios that overlook the garden or the sea. To be sure, every five-star amenity is there and properly accounted for.
Punta Tragara
Le Monzù restaurant serves meals in an airy, window-lined dining room or on the stunning terrace. Executive Chef Luigi Lionetti showcases his Capri roots with a creative seven-course tasting menu including fresh and adventurous cuisine coupled with wines from an amazing list painstakingly curated by food and beverage manager Gennaro Buono. For visitors who want to get off the rock, ask the staff to reserve a table in the hotel's other restaurant, Michelin-starred Mammà in Capri town.
Punta Tragara
In the afternoon or after dinner, relax at Monzù Gin & American Bar, where you may have a fizzy and fruity cocktail or a classic gin and tonic poolside. Breakfast can be prepared to order the next morning, or guests can choose from a variety of fresh things on the buffet.
Caesar Augustus
Caesar Augustus
Caesar Augustus is positioned on a cliff edge 300 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Solaro, Capri's highest point, with stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Anacapri, a charming little town with artisan shops, cafés, and restaurants, is only a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
It's a beautiful family-run hotel with a true warm and friendly vibe. Originally the residence of Russian Prince Emmanuel Bulhak (who erected the statue of Caesar Augustus on the terrace, which serves as the hotel's symbol today), the property was purchased by the Signorini family in 1930 and eventually converted into a hotel.
Caesar Augustus
The interiors are exquisite yet modest, adorned with antiques and vintage pieces collected by the family over the years at antique markets worldwide. The service is kind and personal. Paolo and his son Francesco welcome and greet customers, and the staff is especially kind and professional. The lower terrace features an infinity pool, and a modest open-fronted fitness centre with excellent sea views is tucked away among vineyards and lemon trees. The fitness centre features a treadmill, exercise bike, and free weights, as well as a steam room and treatment sections.

Further along is an excellent vegetable garden that grows everything from artichokes to Savoy cabbages (all of which are used in the restaurant). On Wednesdays, the Head Chef gives culinary workshops, leading visitors to the garden to pick their own ingredients, and on Fridays, you can join him to his trusted fisherman and select your catch for supper.
Caesar Augustus
There are 56 rooms and suites spread out over two buildings. The main villa's highly sought-after cliff-view suites provide breathtaking views from every angle; even the bathrooms have huge windows that attract the eye outside. They're cosy and nicely designed with classic furnishings (19th-century antiques; 20th-century posters and paintings), and some are spruced up with contemporary art. If possible, choose one of the six suites, as the views are breathtaking. Marble bathrooms contain bathtubs or showers, and some even have stunning views of the bay.
Caesar Augustus
Chef Eduardo Vuolo is responsible for the exceptional cuisine of La Terrazza di Lucullo, which is cooked with fresh organic greens from the kitchen garden. It's authentic, hearty home cooking presented in a sophisticated style. Casseruola di verdure, a simple regional meal comprised of stewed vegetables, is delicious, highlighting the best of local products and flavours.
All ingredients are found locally (veggies from the garden, seafood from a trusted fisherman, lemons from the island, and pasta from neighbouring Gragnano), and visitors can even choose their own salad and pasta sauce ingredients.
There are three chef's tables in discreet spots with great views, ideal for a romantic corner or just a bit more seclusion.
Breakfast is also excellent, with a large selection of fruits, local cheeses, cold cuts, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and focaccia, as well as homemade pies and pastries.
Capri Tiberio Palace
Capri Tiberio Palace
It's conveniently placed to the east of Capri's Via Botteghe, which is lined with chic boutiques. It's a little further up from the shops, in a more calm area away from the crowds that pack the town core. Beyond the hotel, it's a delightful 20-30 minute stroll to Villa Lysis, the former house of Swedish poet Jacques Fersen, which has beautiful sea views, and Villa Jovis, the remarkable remnants of Emperor Tiberius' palace from 27 AD.
Capri Tiberio Palace
Gianpiero Panepinto, a Milanese designer, created the eccentric and character-filled interiors. They're bright and cheerful, with mismatched furniture and prints from the Fifties and Sixties (think pop art, old couches, and zany curios). It's comfortable and inviting, with an eclectic mix of items sourced from flea markets throughout the world. It's stylish but vibrant and laid-back, and with only 46 rooms, the ambiance is cosy and intimate.
Capri Tiberio Palace
There's a little swimming pool on the terrace with loungers facing the sea; you won't be doing lengths, but it's ideal for cooling down in the Capri heat. The spa is divided into two floors: the first floor Water Zone features a sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool, and multi-sensory showers, while the second floor has a well-equipped gym with free weights, a spinning bike, a treadmill, and yoga and Pilates mats.
Capri Tiberio Palace
Personal training sessions can be scheduled, as well as Jog & Relax health packages that include running along island paths followed by a massage. The staff is professional and can help you plan most activities on the island, from boat tours to private transportation.
Capri Tiberio Palace
Rooms are cool and funky, each separately equipped with distinctive pieces: coffee-table books on art and photography are scattered throughout, as are wooden sculptures, groovy lamps, and curios from around the world. Warm wallpaper (petrol blue; sea green) adds to the warm atmosphere, and the walls are adorned with artworks in mismatched frames. They're really cosy; you'll feel like you're staying at a friend's house. Carthusia, a local perfume producer, has provided products for the bathrooms.
Breakfast is very delicious, with a big selection of fruits, cereals, freshly baked pastries and focaccia, as well as cheeses such buffalo mozzarella and labneh. There's also a Virgin Mary section where diners can create their own cocktail. The restaurant delivers tastefully presented robust Mediterranean meals that incorporates regional ingredients whenever possible; the rigatoni with broccoli, provolone cheese, and anchovies is particularly outstanding.
Capri Tiberio Palace
There is a designated region for kosher cuisine that combines the best of Italian cuisines with kosher food restrictions. Halal meat is available on request. For a cocktail, head to Jacky Bar, which features a white grand piano and panama hats reminiscent of 1950s Cuba.
La Minerva
La Minerva
On a quiet lane south-east of Capri, away from the tourists that fill the city centre. The town's boutiques and eateries are less than a ten-minute walk away, making it ideal for a quick stop and go. The Augustus Botanical Gardens, which provide wonderful views of the Bay of Marina Piccola, the famous Via Krupp pathway, and the Faraglioni (three rock formations that jut out of the sea), are all within a short walk. It's worth walking up to Villa Lysis, the former home of poet and businessman Jacques Fersen, and Villa Jovis, which Emperor Tiberius erected.
La Minerva
It's run by three amiable brothers who turned their grandparents' home into a boutique hotel. Interiors are bright and fresh; white dominates, with the occasional pastel-colored couch and white and blue tiles adding a Mediterranean flair. With only 19 rooms, the ambiance is relaxed and tranquil. Laid-back music in the lobby sets the tone; it's the type of place where you can unwind, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet.
La Minerva
Some original features have been retained, such as 20th-century ceramic tiles. The walls are covered with sepia images of the island, and there are antiques and family relics scattered throughout: a wooden chest, ornate ceramic pots, hand-painted crockery, and framed tiles.
Service is especially pleasant and discreet. You'll be greeted by one of the Esposito brothers, and you'll be mostly on your own during your stay. You won't see uniformed workers everywhere, which gives the property an isolated and intimate atmosphere, similar to staying in a private villa. An pleasant swimming pool is located behind the hotel, surrounded by lemon trees. Tours of the island can be booked. The Mediterranean-style rooms are adorned in white and natural tones, with vivid handcrafted majolica tiles (some are original).
La Minerva
The rooms are bright, with comfy beds and terraces or balconies with sun loungers in the majority of the rooms. The walls are adorned with black-and-white photos of celebrities that visited the island in the 1960s, including French actress Brigitte Bardot, Italian singer Raffaella Carrà, and actress Gina Lollobrigida. Most bathrooms include showers and bathtubs. Each room has a minibar with complimentary water.
La Minerva
The hotel does not have a restaurant, but light meals (salads and delicious pasta dishes) and snacks can be ordered by the pool. Breakfast is served on the roof patio. It's a tiny but well-planned event featuring freshly baked brioches, breads, fruits, cold meats, and cheeses. Hot items, such as eggs and pancakes, are created to order at no additional cost; they're really tasty, and a nice contrast from hotel breakfast buffets that include somewhat bland ready-made dishes. Breakfast is offered till late in the morning, so late risers don't have to rush out of bed. Drinks can be enjoyed in either the lobby or on the rooftop terrace.
J.K. Place Capri
J.K. Place Capri
It's situated on the water's edge in a tranquil and serene portion of the island, yet the hotel also puts you right in the heart of everything. It's a short walk from the lively Marina Grande, and Capri town, with its posh boutiques and glittering nightlife, is only a 15-minute drive away.
Michele Bönan, a groundbreaking Florentine architect and interior designer, has transformed luxurious manor house style into an art form. Traditional architecture and heritage furniture, such as black and white highlights in herringbone and houndstooth, have been combined with clean, nautically inspired colours to create inviting and open spaces to enjoy. The entire impression is both captivating and intimate.
J.K. Place Capri
General manager Martino Acampora and his superb crew exemplify graciousness, competence, and faultless professionalism. Things come almost magically, often before you realise you want or need them.
There is a large swimming pool bordered with Estro lanterns and amber-toned chaise loungers, and beyond that is a pavilion with a beautiful wellness spa. Inside, there is a sauna, a steam bath, and an emotional shower (although treatments can also be performed on one of the outside loungers), as well as a tiny but well-equipped gym that offers private pilates and yoga lessons.
J.K. Place Capri
Like the rest of the hotel's furnishings, the 22 individually styled rooms (20 with sea views) ooze a residential flare that whispers, rather than screams, couture. Beds are decorated with handmade mattress toppers, while polished marble bathrooms in warm greys and seashell whites are garnished with 100% Egyptian cotton terry towels and robes.
J.K. Place Capri
If Capri is for lovers, so is the Hideaway Superior Room, which may be approached discreetly by an outdoor path. It has a private patio great for taking in the breathtaking views.
The waterfront patio deck is an ideal place to relax while sipping a pink Sunset Martini (made with fresh watermelon, basil leaves, jasmine syrup, and vodka) or a signature JK Spritz, complemented by a selection of chef-curated snacks.
JKitchen, the hotel's single restaurant, has become one of Capri's most renowned, and it's well worth the money. Executive Chef Eduardo Estatico makes no secret of the fact that his creations, an unusual blend of haute cuisine and strictly seasonal regional dishes, are inspired by Neapolitan grandmothers.
