Madrid Open Tennis: Tickets, Access & Travel Guide
Madrid is our recommendation for a clay-court tournament that pairs well with a serious city break. La Caja Mágica is not in the central museum district, so the venue journey belongs in the plan.

Madrid is our recommendation for a clay-court tournament that pairs well with a serious city break. La Caja Mágica is not in the central museum district, so the venue journey belongs in the plan. Early rounds are our preference for visitors who want variety across the men’s and women’s programmes, rather than only a final-day occasion.
Dates, venue and edition status
Official Madrid Open ticket page displays 19 April–2 May 2027. Verify qualifying, main-draw and sessions separately; some linked documents and products still refer to earlier editions. La Caja Mágica is the venue reference. Check the current programme and session-specific ticket conditions separately.
How to choose tickets and hospitality
Choose the named stadium and session first. The official ticket page offers 2027 tickets and premium seating, but still contains some older 2026 products and price references. Check the edition at checkout. A Manolo Santana seat, another stadium product and grounds access can have different entitlements; request the precise court rules.
A named player may withdraw, lose earlier than expected or be assigned to another court. Buy the session and seat you are comfortable with rather than relying on an assumed match. Ask about postponements, weather policies and what happens if play moves to another court.
Where to stay and getting around
Central Madrid suits dining, museums and a longer stay. A south-oriented base can serve the venue journey differently, but compare the complete route to La Caja Mágica rather than distance alone. Keep the return after an evening session in mind, including the last usable public-transport option.
Compare room cancellation terms, minimum stays and the actual journey to your first and last bookings. If your accommodation and event purchase come from different suppliers, check both policies independently. A convenient base usually matters more than squeezing the maximum number of bookings into each day.
Build a realistic itinerary
Spend an arrival day in Madrid, then let the tournament’s order of play shape each tennis day. Avoid a tightly timed museum slot between sessions. Keep a separate city day afterwards for a more relaxed visit and allow matches to run longer than the nominal start-time plan suggests.
What to confirm before you pay
Request the exact product, booked date or session, seat or reservation requirements, total price and currency, taxes, delivery method, cancellation terms and transfer restrictions. For hospitality, clarify whether dining, drinks, transport and the event ticket are included or quoted separately. Only written inclusions should inform the purchase.
Planning with Velloy
Contact Velloy with your preferred edition, number of guests, access priorities and hotel requirements. The team can explain which services and proposals are available; an enquiry is not a confirmed ticket or reservation. Explore membership separately for broader travel planning, and ask which rates, fees and benefits apply to your trip.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an old Madrid Open price list for 2027?
No. The official ticket page still contains some earlier-edition documents. Check the year, court, session and current total at checkout instead of treating an old price PDF as a quotation.
Can I guarantee seeing a particular player?
A session ticket normally guarantees the ticketed access, not an individual player. The draw, results, scheduling and withdrawals can all affect appearances.
When should I book accommodation?
Once the relevant edition and access plan are clear, compare suitable hotels. If booking before ticket confirmation, use terms that protect you against a changed itinerary and avoid assuming the organiser will reimburse unrelated travel.
The planning detail we would not overlook
The official ticket page currently displays 19 April–2 May 2027. Treat that as the broad event window and verify qualifying, main-draw and individual sessions. Our overlooked-detail recommendation is to ignore old price PDFs as current quotations: an updated heading does not make every linked document a 2027 product.
