Royal Ascot: Access & Travel Guide

Royal Ascot is both a racing meeting and a social occasion, but the enclosure determines much of the experience. Choose the level of access, dress requirements and dining plan before deciding how to spend the day.

Edition and official dates

15–19 June 2027, as listed on the official Royal Ascot page. Enclosure access, race-day tickets and hospitality must be booked for the relevant day.

Tickets, invitations and hospitality

The official enclosure guide distinguishes the public Windsor and Queen Anne experiences from the Royal Enclosure, which is for members and their guests. Hospitality and premium experiences are separate products with their own inclusions. A public ticket must not be described as Royal Enclosure access. Confirm whether dining, drinks, admission and any table or box are included in the specific proposal.

Where to base your stay

An Ascot or Berkshire base can reduce the return journey, while London works for visitors combining racing with a city stay. Check trains, station-to-gate walking and any booked car arrangements. Departures after the final races can be crowded; allow a realistic return window rather than a fixed early dinner elsewhere.

Build a considered itinerary

Select the day and enclosure first. Consult the current dress guidance for that enclosure, including any rules for children or guests, instead of relying on a generic “Ascot dress code”. Leave time for the Parade Ring, racing and your dining reservation without making the itinerary dependent on a particular race result.

Before you book

Ask for the exact booked day or session, admission category, venue, seat or reservation requirements, total price and currency, delivery method, cancellation policy and transfer restrictions. Confirm whether transport, dining, drinks and the main event ticket are included or quoted separately. Book only against written inclusions, and review the organiser’s latest information before departure.
