Cannes Film Festival: Tickets, Access & Travel Guide
Cannes is the right choice for travellers who want the atmosphere of a major film-industry gathering, but it is not the easiest festival for unrestricted public premiere access. Our recommendation is to decide whether you want films, professional participation or the Riviera social setting before paying for a package.

Cannes is the right choice for travellers who want the atmosphere of a major film-industry gathering, but it is not the easiest festival for unrestricted public premiere access. Our recommendation is to decide whether you want films, professional participation or the Riviera social setting before paying for a package. They are different trips.
Dates, venue and edition status
Official Festival de Cannes site lists 11–22 May 2027. Accreditation and programme information are separate releases. The venue reference is Palais des Festivals and participating venues. Check programme times and any changes to the venue list separately.
Public tickets, passes and accreditation
The official festival distinguishes professional, press, Marché du Film, cinephile and Three Days in Cannes accreditation routes. Eligibility and approval matter. The retrieved accreditation page still gives 2026 application windows, which must not be treated as 2027 deadlines. An accreditation, a screening reservation, a red-carpet invitation and a party invitation are not interchangeable products.
Film line-ups, talent appearances and Q&As can change. Buy for the screening itself and review the organiser’s cancellation and late-arrival policy. Accreditation has eligibility requirements and may involve deadlines, evidence of professional activity and further reservations.
Where to stay and getting around
Central Cannes suits a festival-led visit, particularly if your confirmed venues are around the Palais and Croisette. Antibes or Nice can serve a broader Riviera holiday but add late-return logistics. Our preference for several screening days is to reduce the daily journey, then extend along the coast after the festival rather than commute for every evening.
Compare room cancellation terms, minimum stays and the actual journey to your first and last bookings. If your accommodation and event purchase come from different suppliers, check both policies independently. A convenient base usually matters more than squeezing the maximum number of bookings into each day.
Build a realistic itinerary
Build the visit around the screenings or events you can actually access. Leave space for queues, venue changes and an unhurried meal rather than fill every hour with speculative invitations. Add a coastal day outside the programme. A film-focused schedule and a hospitality-led social schedule should be planned separately.
What to confirm before you pay
Request the exact product, booked date or session, seat or reservation requirements, total price and currency, taxes, delivery method, cancellation terms and transfer restrictions. For hospitality, clarify whether dining, drinks, transport and the event ticket are included or quoted separately. Only written inclusions should inform the purchase.
Planning with Velloy
Contact Velloy with your preferred edition, number of guests, access priorities and hotel requirements. The team can explain which services and proposals are available; an enquiry is not a confirmed ticket or reservation. Explore membership separately for broader travel planning, and ask which rates, fees and benefits apply to your trip.
Frequently asked questions
Can a public visitor attend every Cannes premiere?
No. Cannes has conditional accreditation and reservation routes, not unrestricted general access to every premiere. Check eligibility and the named screening entitlement; a hospitality package is not automatically an invitation.
Can I buy red-carpet or private-party access?
Only rely on an event whose invitation or ticket conditions can be verified. Public screening access, accreditation and a party invitation are not interchangeable, and Velloy does not promise access on this page.
When should I book accommodation?
Once the relevant edition and access plan are clear, compare suitable hotels. If booking before ticket confirmation, use terms that protect you against a changed itinerary and avoid assuming the organiser will reimburse unrelated travel.
The planning detail we would not overlook
The official cinephile and Three Days routes show that Cannes is not simply closed to every film enthusiast, but access is limited and conditional. Check the current age, application and reservation rules when 2027 details are released. Our advice is never to pay for a loosely worded red-carpet promise without the named event, invitation terms and authorised delivery route.
