Hungarian Grand Prix: Tickets, Hospitality & Travel Guide
Budapest makes the Hungarian Grand Prix a particularly good city-and-racing combination. Our preference is to stay where you want to spend the evenings and accept that the Hungaroring is outside the centre.

Budapest makes the Hungarian Grand Prix a particularly good city-and-racing combination. Our preference is to stay where you want to spend the evenings and accept that the Hungaroring is outside the centre. The tight, busy lap rewards a thoughtful stand choice more than a vague promise of trackside glamour.
Dates, venue and the latest edition
2027 calendar: 30 Jul - 01 Aug 2027. Dates can change; confirm the organiser’s latest timetable before booking. Hungaroring is the planning reference for this guide. Session times, support races and entry arrangements should be checked on the official event page. Do not assume last year’s timetable or access rules apply.
Which tickets should you compare?
Compare a first-corner braking view with the main straight if you want the grid and pit activity. A screen is especially useful for following a race when your view covers only part of the lap. We would ask about sun exposure and allocated seating before paying for a higher ticket category.
The final corners and start-finish area create different race views. Ask about shade, water access and seat orientation, especially when comparing hospitality with uncovered grandstands.
Where to stay and how to reach the circuit
Pest is convenient for a restaurant-led city stay; Buda can suit a quieter base. Neither removes the journey to the circuit near Mogyoród. Request the current event transport plan, final walk and return meeting point. Leave restaurant times loose after sessions rather than build the evening around an optimistic driving estimate.
Compare the total trip cost rather than the room rate alone: transfers, minimum stays, cancellation terms and time spent travelling all matter. Ask the hotel to confirm race-weekend arrival arrangements and keep restaurant reservations flexible until session times are released.
A practical weekend plan
Give Budapest a separate arrival or recovery day. Treat each circuit day as its main activity, with an early enough departure to absorb queues. After the race, keep time for the Danube, thermal baths or a longer meal instead of trying to fit them into session gaps.
Booking safely and requesting a proposal
Use the official organiser or a supplier whose authorisation and delivery terms you can verify. Before paying, request the exact product, currency, taxes, cancellation conditions, delivery method and any names required on tickets. Social-media photos are not proof of the current package.
Ask Velloy about your dates, guests, viewing priorities and hotel requirements. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking. Membership is a separate option if you want to explore help with trips beyond this event; specific rates, access and inclusions must be confirmed before payment.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Hungaroring in Budapest’s city centre?
No. The circuit is near Mogyoród outside central Budapest. A Pest or Buda hotel serves the city stay, with a separate circuit journey to plan.
Can I book next year using this guide?
Use the guide for planning, but recheck the edition note and official calendar before non-refundable arrangements. Dates and ticket releases are maintained on this same evergreen page.
Do I need membership to enquire?
Contact Velloy to discuss the event and ask which services are available. Request the requirements and fees applicable to your proposal rather than assuming membership includes a ticket.
The planning detail we would not overlook
Hot summer conditions make shade, approved water arrangements and breaks useful buying criteria. Check the current rules before packing bottles or bags. Our advice is to preserve an easy evening after a full outdoor day: a hotel you enjoy returning to can add more value than a marginal seat upgrade.
